7 STEPS FOR A PERFECT SUNDAY

For a long time, I though 2 days in the week end was not enough -I still think so, don’t get me wrong! So I used to do a lot on Sundays, not taking enough time to rest, doing all my groceries and shopping, working out… But I’ve stopped doing that a few months ago and it feels so good to relax! I still believe it would be nice to have another day in the week-end! However, now that I know how to plan things to be able to enjoy and just have a full relax day in the week, and take time for myself. Plus I don’t get that Sunday blues anymore! If you feel like taking this time for yourself, here’s all what you can do to fell all ready and motivated for a new week to start!

Read

I love reading but I find it hard to take time for it in the week. Sadly, I don’t make it a priority and when it comes to juggle with work, training and all the daily stuff, I can’t make enough time to read. So that’s what I do on Sundays. Recently, I find myself more interested in self development book or books about the universe -why not after all?! So whether you like poetry, novels, history, self development books, take time to read if you can’t do it during the week. Here are the books I have been reading lately and I looooved them so I wanted to share!

The power of now – Eckart Tolle

Light on life – B.K.S Iyengar

The seven spiritual laws of yoga – Deepak Chopra & David Simon

Explorations of a cosmic soul – Allie Michelle

The universe in bite-sized chunks – Colin Stuart

Sapiens, A brief story of humankind – Yuval Noah Harari

The four agreements – Miguel Ruiz

Cook

I love food, it’s not a secret. But during the week, I’m really lazy to cook and I just go for the quickest but still nutritious and good meals. So in the week-end, I love cooking good breakfast/brunch and cakes. I don’t need to cook for several people to enjoy cooking. When I have time, I just love cooking good meals and breakfast is my favorite meal so if I don’t go out for brunch on a Sunday, 100% sure I’ll prepare one at home! And I’ll then cook biscuits or a cake in the afternoon. Try this vegan cookies recipe I did Today! They are sooooo good!

For 10 cookies:

Ingredients:

  • 100g sugar
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100g coconut oil
  • 60ml plant based milk
  • 1 tea spoon vanilla extract
  • 190g flour
  • 1/2 tea spoon baling powder
  • Chocolate chunks at your taste (which means a lot)

Steps:

  • Mix both sugars, the salt and the melted coconut oil until homogeneous.
  • Pour the milk and the vanilla extract and mix all together.
  • Add the flour and the baking powder and mix.
  • Add then the chocolate chunks.
  • Chill -not you, the dough- and cool for at least 30 minutes.
  • Pre-heat oven at 180°C.
  • With a spoon -or your hands- make small balls with the dough.
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Let them cool -or not if you’re greedy! And enjoy!

Meditate

Again, it may be hard for you to find time to meditate during the week. Even though you can easily fit 10 minutes of meditation each day if you really want to do it. So in the week-end, it’s the perfect time to meditate, for a long time if you feel like. I also believe that meditation can simply be mindfulness. Whether you go for a walk, cook, play music or whatever activity, if you focus 100% on what you are doing, I believe it can also be a king of meditation. But if you want to sit still and meditate in silence, don’t be afraid to try it and face your thoughts. I have written an article about meditation which might help you take the step.

Clean your space

A great ritual that I try to incorporate in my week-end routine as soon as possible is cleansing my space. Of course it can mean cleaning your home, your room, doing your laundry and all the stuff you want to feel ready for the week. But if you want to take it to another level, you can also clean the energies of your space. You don’t need a lot of material no worries! I love using sandal wood as I love its smell. White sage is also very good to clean the energies is your space. Feel free to do whatever makes you feel like you are bringing new energies to your space. You can also clean your crystals by putting them in the sun for a bit as they bring you energy all the time, they need to get some. Burning incense also helps removing all the negative and old energies. Do whatever feels good to you to have a clean space for a new week.

Move

I know I said I used Sundays to rest but it doesn’t mean you can’t move! And moving doesn’t have to be training hard or doing intense workout. Going for a long walk in the nature, doing some stretches, practicing a gentle yoga flow, there are many options to move without shocking your body. Especially if you train regularly during the week, you need to have at least one day in the week when you let your body rest and recover from your workouts. Give your body and muscles a rest and stretch it!

Take care of your body

Now it’s time to scrub and get that skin glowing! With all the stuff you have in your bathroom or your kitchen, you can make so many masks and products to take care of your skin. Apply a coconut oil mask on your hair for a whole day if you’re not planning to do anything -even if you go out you can dare going with your mask on! Scrub your body to remove the dead skins. I love the coffee/coconut scrub which makes my skin so smooth. I don’t drink coffee so I usually go to the closest Starbucks and ask them for the coffee grounds which they give me! No need to pay for those fancy scrubs when you can get the coffee for free and just mix it with some coconut oil! Then use whatever you need to make you feel all good.

Plan

To make your week easier, make lists of what you want to achieve. Plan your workouts for the week so that you don’t miss any. Prepare your meals in advance if it helps you saving time each day. You can plan whatever you want that makes you feel ready everyday and without any stress. Your outfits, your food.. Especially if there are things you want to incorporate to your routine like reading, meditating, training, it may be a good idea to plan it in your journal so that you have to stick to it. It is always easier when you feel like your are committed to something, even when you only committed to you!

Now you are completely ready to smash a new week and reach all your goals!
